Today, the homosexual community is banding together and calling into work “gay”. They are callin it a “Day Without A Gay”. I hope they accomplish whatever it is they are trying to do. I think people already know how important it is to show up to work, whether you are gay, straight, crooked, whatever. Especially during these tough economic times. A pretty bold move to risk one’s job like that.
Anyway, the list of potential gay jokes is endless here. I won’t even bother. But today would not be a good day to be sick. Or to have an emergency. Because if you miss work today, I’m thinking people will be questioning your sexuality. “What’s that, Tom? You had to have an appendectomy?? Right…..”

I’m with you on the riskiness of calling out “gay,” but I feel strongly that this is a Civil Rights issue. Why does the government care so much about who we sleep with? I am Catholic but if people want to marry then marry. God knows there are people who get married for way less scrupulous reasons.
I’m guessing I wouldn’t be very popular in Texas.

I get what they’re trying to prove, but I’m not sure if taking the chance of losing your job will get you/your views noticed?
I don’t even think I know what to say about this – what a “monumental” day in our country’s history. (Can you detect the sarcasm?) I’m not trying to be rude, but I’m not sure this is the best way to prove a point.

I don’t think the government should be involved with this stuff either, Dimplz. I think it’s between the people and their beliefs. I personally don’t want it thrown in my face, but that’s just my opinion.

LOL yeah I saw this article on Yahoo yesterday. I wasn’t sure what to say. This may be one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen. Risking your job is not a good way to prove a point. Frankly, I’m tired of all the media exposure about gays. You don’t hear me carrying on about what goes on in MY bedroom. I’m not sure why gay people seem to think we seem to want to hear what happens in theirs. If that’s how you want to be, that’s fine… just keep it to yourself.
